水电站压力钢管、蜗壳、岔管用高强度钢板。SG 系列牌号，强度 610–980MPa，低碳当量设计，现场焊接不需要高温预热。

水电钢的现场条件是决定因素：洞内焊接、湿度大、预热设备受限。所以材料端的低碳当量和低焊接裂纹敏感性，比单纯追求强度更实用。
压力钢管用板通常要求 TMCP+T 或调质，厚板还要保证厚度方向性能。配套焊材的热输入范围可以一并提供，方便施工方做焊接工艺评定。
