Export shipment: API 2H Gr.50 shaped pieces

News2026-09-10

This one deserves a second look at the photos: 80 mm API 2H Gr.50 offshore-platform steel, cut to large curved profiles, stencils sitting neat and upright. Nine weeks from mill booking to container-on-vessel, every step tied to a clause.

The order's hard gates

API 2H Gr.50 is the American offshore structural grade: beyond normal mechanicals it carries through-thickness reduction-of-area and low-temperature impact. The 80 mm plate was forward-booked, quenched-and-tempered, certified to EN10204 3.1, with third-party witness sampling before shipment.

Cutting and packing details

Curved profiles went out on twin-torch symmetric flame cutting to keep distortion in check; edges ground, dimensions re-checked, heat numbers transferred onto each part. Loading ran on a flat rack with timber dunnage and strapped securing, the plan photographed and sent for approval before the crane worked.

The takeaway from this job: export competitiveness is not the price — it is the certainty that documents and goods agree. Clean stencils, matching certificates, packing that survives the sea; clear the destination port once and the next order follows.
